Thanks so much for sending me the 1954 passenger consists.  I didn't see 1 & 2 in the book.  I know it was a short train but do you have the consist during 1954?

Good morning, Glenn:

The 1954 N&W Consist Book that I have was a photocopy provided, I think, by Rick Morrison.  I'd need to check my files to be certain.  Anyway, the originals were loose-leaf and periodically updated.  Trains 1 and 2 should have been included, but weren't.  I'll inquire to see if anyone else knows the train's consist, particularly regarding the head-end equipment.

My understanding is that the consist may have been:

[unknown head-end, except for a 30-feet RPO and baggage combination]
coach - Roanoke-Hagerstown
sleeper - Roanoke-New York (perhaps a 10 roomette, 6 bedroom)
diner - Roanoke Waynesboro (up on 2, returned on 1)

There may have been more than one coach, and one may have been a partitioned car.
