Gordon states: "Floyd County is the next county south of Montgomery County, where Shawsville is located, and Floyd County never got a railroad."

I've heard that's why the 1866 "Christiansburg" station at Cambria had such a large freight house. Most of the Floyd County residents receiving express and LCL freight picked up their shipments at Cambria.
