The K1's were built as passenger locomotives, but eventually worked both
freight and passenger, as more passenger locomotives became available.

Subject: RE: Cavalier and Pochahantas cars
Hello Gary I was just wondering about what types were on them, like were
they heavy weight types or lite weight and what did they have in them? i
wasn't too concerned about the area where they ran. I did however think
about the area around or past Roanoke or Crewe. Its just a thought. This
basement is calling me to put a model railroad down there. 3 Js need
something to haul. I do have another question about K-1s were they passenger
lcos or did they do both? tony
