Convicts to Work Roads

    Virginia officers in charge of twenty-one prisoners passed through the city yesterday afternoon.  All of the men were chained in pairs and were on their way from Lee county to Roanoke county where they will be put to work on the roads.  The prisoners attracted considerable attention at the station.
