WILL ENLARGE THE OLD FREIGHT STATION

Old Division Office Building Will be Removed to Freight Depot

    It is stated that the Norfolk and Western will soon tear away the old division office, just east of the passenger station and rebuild it on the east end of the present freight depot.  The freight offices will be located in the second story and a bridge will be arranged so that passage can be had from Princeton avenue.  Bluefield needs additional facilities at its freight depot, but it is doubtful if this building will be sufficient.

[I am attaching two image from the Virginia Tech image database.  "DivOffBldg" is believed to show the old division office (above the manually powered derrick) east of the passenger station as mentioned in the article.  "BlfdFrtSta" shows the  new division office mentioned in the article.  Note the bridge that was mentioned.  Also, note the streetcar tracks that belonged to the Bluestone Traction Co. during this this time period.]
