You are right about those being N&W branch lines off the
Bluestone--Widemouth branch, but apparently the Virginian, for whatever
reason, let it be known that it would complete for the coal off those
branches.

Didn't see the May 28 article, but weren't those N&W branches? I know the
one up Crane Creek to Sagamore was, and I'm pretty sure the Flipping Creek
