Colored Brakeman Fired Upon
    The News reporter was reliably informed yesterday that Charley Hester, one of the colored brakemen on No. 86, on the Clinch Valley, was the target for some unknown party with a shot gun one night during the week while the train was approaching the corporate limits in West Graham.  Hester was not hit by the shot but, it is said, had a very narrow escape.  There is no clue as to who fired the shot and as far as is known no report was made of the matter to the railroad company.
