Matz hotel in Bluefield collapsed

This reminded me of the news a couple of years ago about another historic
building in Bluefield collapsing, which is mentioned near the bottom of the
story linked below. It is sad to see the architectural heritage of a city
like Bluefield, which is so dear to the hearts of N&W buffs, literally
falling apart.

BLUEFIELD — The front section of an historic landmark on Princeton Avenue,
the old Matz-Milner Hotel — collapsed Friday morning, leaving rubble strewn
across the Avenue, and crushing the art deco entrance and lobby of the
Colonial Theater. Authorities believe that no one was injured in the
collapse...............
