The entire Sanborn insurance maps collection is now owned by
Environmental Data Resources, Inc. (800-352-0050; www.edrnet.com ). EDR
has digitized the maps so they can be searched via the Internet, but EDR
charges a search fee.  

If you are looking for Sanborn maps of Virginia cities and towns,
several libraries in Virginia have the entire state set that you can
search for free including the UVA library, the VPI library, and the
Virginia State Library.

I forgot to mention that I have a lot of the published reference books
and magazines concerning the AB Branch. I have so far: The Virginia
Creeper by Doug McGuinn N&W Steams' Last Stand by Mallory Ferrell The
Last Steam RR in America by Link Sept 1975 RMC with article by Tony
Koester Several Mainline Modelers with articles/drawings by Bob Hundman
Tons of photos from the Internet Regional USGS maps that are from
present day

What I'm looking for are maps showing trackage from the 1940s to 1950s.

Anyone know how to get Sanborn Fire Insurance maps?
