Geographically, that would have been the Drake Hotel. I knew nothing of such reputation when I lived there (being just a lad), but it could well be true. Building is long gone. Jim Nichols

A former Pocahontas Division trainmaster once noted
that there was a hotel just west of the Division Office
Building in Bluefield that rented rooms by the hour.
When Superintendent, R. F. Dunlap could gaze down
to a room with the blinds open and from his lofty office
he'd follow his forte -- supervise.
