FIRST TRAIN CROSSES ROANOKE RIVER BRIDGE

Virginia [sic] Railway Now Complete From Norfolk to New River

Roanoke, Va., Jan. 5 (Special)--The Virginian Railway bridge over the Roanoke River, thirty-five miles east of Roanoke [a 684' bridge just east of Leesville], was finished this morning and the first train crossed the bridge this evening. The road is now complete from Norfolk to New River. It will be completed all the way by the end of January [But, wait for the rest of the story.]
