Bud and list,

I have the orignal copy and I have just about read the print off of it. I really should and will get another new copy. If you would not mind could you e mail the Y6b dates off list to me off list. If it is also easy I need the Y6a and Y6 dates.

Thanks MIke Ritschdorff nwpoca at hotmail.com

P.S. Folks anyone who gets to the Chicago area my home layout is always open for visits. I do have good nieghbors also as two of them get a lit up CPL signal pointed at their front window ( soon to be a double target one)

Mike

Mike,

I can give you all of these dates, but if you have my revised edition of my book, N&W: Giant of Steam, they are listed in an appendix.

Folks, While we are the subject of the great Y6 classes, I am in the need of the build dates of the Y6, Y6a and Y6b classes. I have the years but need the month of build! I have many of the nice N&W books but they do not list the months. As always up to things for the society. Lastly I need a source of drawings and diagrams for the S1 and S1a classes. Thanks Mike Ritschdorff I can also be contacted off line at nwpoca at hotmail.com> Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2008 06:50:13 -0700> Subject: Re: Question about the N&W freight "hooter" whistle> To: nw-mailing-list at nwhs.org> From: nw-mailing-list at nwhs.org> > > During various in-cab recordings of Y6 pushers on Blue Ridge, Link was constantly trying to adjust the mike position or gain in order to reduce whistle distortion. In one sequence he asked the engineer to let him know when he was going to blow the whistle so he could turn the input volume down. Sometimes the engineer would forget and a lot of distortion would result, alone with some comments by Link!> > Dave Stephenson> > > > > > ________________________________________> NW-Mailing-List at nwhs.org> To change your subscription go to> http://list.nwhs.org/mailman/options/nw-mailing-list> Browse the NW-Mailing-List archives at> http://list.nwhs.org/pipermail/nw-mailing-list/
