FYI:
Sound like a interesting talk at Radford's Glencoe museum on the history
of Radford and the railroad.

September 18th, 6:30pm, Glencoe Museum
Just how important was the railroad to the development of the City of
Radford? A picture-filled PowerPoint presentation will reveal the vital and
inseparable relationship between Radford and the rails. Participants will
see the growth of Lovely Mount (pop. 30) in 1854 to the City of Radford and
the evolution of the engines that passed through. We will also take a look
into the bright future of the railroad and its potential impact on the New
River Valley. A variety of O-gauge trains will also be displayed to
emphasize the changes in the locomotives of the area.
