Louisville & Nashville Connection
------
In February, 1905*, the corporation commission of Virginia ordered the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company to hold their train No. 80 for Norfolk & Western train No. 11 thirty minutes in the absence of no report of through passengers or when No. 11 reported one or two passengers for the Louisville & Nashville, one hour for more than two and not exceeding five passengers, and one hour and thirty minutes if more than five passengers were reported.
The commission has now modified the order regulating the holding of Louisville train No. 80 (now No. 24*) to thirty minutes and has promulgated an order under date of February 19, 1908, whereby after March 17 Louisville & Nashville train No. 24* will only wait thirty minutes on Norfolk & Western train No. 11.
The former order was rescinded and revoked on the strength of the Louisville & Nashville now having double daily service instead of only one train, as was the case at the time the original order was made.

[ The connection was at Norton, VA. As late as the early 1950's I made the connection from the other direction, i.e., Corbin, KY to Bluefield, WV.]
