------
A pretty good record was made yesterday on train No. 2 by officers of the law, assisted by the brakeman and news agent, between Powhatan and Lick Branch. A man, whose name was not learned by us, became obstreperous and attempted to draw his pistol on the brakeman, when the latter proceeded to use his gun with good effect upon his head. After being subdued, he was searched and a dangerous looking gun taken from him. A justice of the peace was a passenger and issued a warrant for the offender, who confessed and was assessed $25 and cost. He was let off the train at Maybeury, and the last seen of him by the passengers, he was gesticulating and inviting the officers to call on him later.
