Extensive Improvements at Bluestone Junction
------
The Norfolk and Western railroad is making extensive improvements of their property at Bluestone Junction. A heavy cement foundation has been laid on which the station has been moved. It now fronts the east instead of the north as formally.
On the old station site the company will erect a new tower with an entirely new interlocking signal and switch system.
This improvement is one that has been needed for some time. A very heavy coal traffic passes this point. Bluestone Junction is the point at which all the coal that comes into Bluefield passes [the Clinch Valley line employees would take exception to that statement.]. From this junction freight and passenger trains go to and from Pocahontas, Cooper, Simmons, Goodwill, Bramwell, the Crane Creek and Widemouth branches.
The new system when completed will facilitate the handling of the heavy traffic at this point.
