Jimmy,

I have a copy of that Shenandoah yard diagram.

The Sanborn maps were done for insurance purposes I believe; they usually will show the layout of a town or city, identify the type of construction for the structures, etc. They are particularly helpful for model railroad purposes because they also show the various sidings in any given town.

Next time you are at the Archives, look at the VA tape and Luray; you will see not only main street, etc., but the tannery, mill and other buildings served by the railroad.

Shenandoah, VA"

Jim,
I don't know what a Sanborn Map looks like, however, there is some type of map in the Archives that does show Shenandoah, Va., the yard layout and some properties close to the RofW.
