Subject: N&W in 1904 -- Philadelphia Engines
N. & W. ENGINES SENT NORTH FOR REPAIRS
------
Many Norfolk and Western engines in need of repair have been sent to Philadelphia this winter, owning to the rush of work here at the repair shops. As a rule the engines built for the road in Philadelphia have not lasted as long as others in the service they are called upon to perform, and it is these engines which in most cases are sent north for repairs.

[Does this mean that the Richmond and Roanoke Shops engines were better than those built by Baldwin?]
