WILL EMPLOY MANY

New Lumber Company to Operate East of Elliston

   The Norfolk and Western railroad is placing a thousand-foot siding 
just east of Elliston for the George E. Davis Lumber Company. The 
tramway road is completed almost to the top of Poor Mountain on the 
south side. The lumber will be hauled up by an engine on the south 
side to the top of the mountain and then hauled down the north side 
on wagons, which will probably give employment to all the teamsters 
in the community as well as the wagons owned by the company. Lumber 
will also be shipped in to this point and worked up here. The company 
already have over a million feet of lumber cut ready to haul.
