REPORTS OF WRECK GROSSLY EXAGGERATED
------
Enginemen Hall Sustained slight Injuries and No One Else was Hurt
------
Late yesterday afternoon rumors were current on the streets of a fearful wreck on the Clinch Valley division. One story was to the effect that four lives had been snuffed out. The Telegraph man made an investigation, and was pleased to learn that the reports had been grossly exaggerated.
The facts in the case are that a work train crashed into the rear of a shifter which was standing at the station at Swords Creek. Three cars and the caboose were telescoped, but no one was killed or even seriously hurt. Z. R. Hall, the engineer of the work train, jumped and escaped with slight bruises. No one else was injured in any way.
