Return to steam? I attach a visual to help keep things in perspective. 
Also, the comparison with diesel will have to include cost of plant and 
additional labor, not to mention cold weather extras.
I like the electrification idea but Dominion Power is getting the gears
thrown at them regarding their plan to build a new power plant at Virginia
City in Wise County (and use only Virginia coal). Even the Bristol Herald
Courier is much against any new coal-fired plant.
