Thank you for the information.  I went into the
groups.yahoo address you included.  There was mention
about the "order hoops" in the Train Orders article. 
Its exciting to own a part of RR history.  Do you know
of any web sites that may show some picture of the
various devices used as order hoops?

I haven't investigated websites but suppose if you
enter "train order hoop" or "train order fork,"
including the quotation marks, you'll get some hits
that might have some illustrations.
