YOUNG MAN MEETS WITH SERIOUS ACCIDENT
------
Was Riding on Hand Car and Met Fast-Going Train
------
Roy Chapman, son of Squire James Chapman, has met with a very serious accident near Nolan. He was employed as time keeper on the extra force, and in company with three laborers, was sent for dinner for the crew. They were on a hand car, and upon the approach of a train the laborers jumped off and ran to a safe distance. Chapman remained with the car and tried to get it off the track, but before he succeeded in doing this, it was struck by the engine and hurled against Chapman, breaking his leg and causing other serious injuries.
