Nathan,

	N&W controlled the crossing. It was the second railroad to arrive at
Riverton Junction and therefore bore the expense of the crossing. There was
a N&W telephone box located at the junction and SR would call the dispatcher
in Roanoke for permission to cross. If OK, the signal would "time down" and
