Surveys on New Road Begun
Bristol, Va., Nov. 14 -- A corps of engineers under Chief Engineer
Cothran, of the Bristol and Kingsport railway, has begun the survey
of a route through Sullivan county for the proposed road. The survey
was begun Wednesday morning in the suburbs of Bristol and the
engineers are proceeding westward through the county. Former Governor
Cox is president of the company that proposes to construct this road.
The promoters are all enthusiastic over the prospects of the success
of the project. The farmers of the county are in such sore need of
such a road that it is not expected any farmer through whose lands
the road is to run will make any charge for a right of way.
