Philip-
N&W published for company use only, a record of interchange
with all roads by station. Unfortunately, I don't have one and
I don't recall the volume of interchange with Clinchfield at
St. Paul. Here are a few more facts you may find helpful:

1- Clinchfield had trackage rights on N&W Boody Yard
(St. Paul) to Carbo until the late 30's.

2- Although coal was the primary commodity interchanged,
Clinchfield delivered Tennessee Eastman traffic to N&W.

3- Occasionally an oversize load would show up on the N&W
that would NOT clear the tunnels west of St. Paul one of
N&W's jumbo covered hoppers, for example. N&W would
deliver the hi/wides to Clinchfield to be moved to Miller Yard
and handed over to the Interstate RR for movement to Norton.
The last run Interstate made Norton to Miller Yard (about 1978)
was to pick up a couple of loads of steel routed N&W that
     wouldn't clear.

4- Clinchfield was jointly owned by C&O and ACL and they were
"in it for the long - haul". N&W stood a much better chance of
getting the :long haul on Tidewater coal than VGN did because
N&W was a one-line haul St. Paul-Lamberts Point. From wheel
reports, it becomes evident that coal for Sewells Point was
     routed CRR- Spartanburg - C&WC - CN&L - Sumter- ACL and
set off at Jarratt. CRR and ACL got a bigger chunk of the
     revenue that way.
