How to control the trackside enthusiasm during the steam excursion era 
always worried me deeply.

In 1992 I had the very uncomfortable feeling that one of my shots of the 
on-coming 50th Anniversary Stana Train might catch a little one tripping 
into the tracks. I'm sure the crew also sweated out many a blind curve. I 
attach a image of the 50th Santa Train heading down to Ft. Blackmore (note 
the baby in the hand tote) and a shot of the 1999 run at Sun, VA.

CSX now, thankfully, only allows the gift-tossing to occur at designated 
stops.
