Ken,

You're certainly in a position to know, but I never realized they sold parts that were taken off the locomotive. I knew they sold "spare" or extra parts. Based on what you're saying, they made sure the locomotive could never be made complete again. Right?

I'd have to say not likely, as most of the "missing parts" were sold at the auction after the end of the steam program in Birmingham, not when the locomotive was moved to the Museum.

HAVE TO ASK THIS QUESTION: ANY CHANCE THEY WILL INSTALL THE "MISSING" PARTS ON
# 1218 FOR THE OCCASION ? I'M ASSUMING THOSE PARTS WERE NOT DISCARDED WHEN THE LOCO WAS MOVED TO THE MUSEUM THE FIRST TIME.
