The area on the map between the railroad and the creek from Berkley Road
east is now the Vinyard Soccer Complex. The road shown on the map is the
access road to a number of fields and a large parking lot (the road
continues as a private drive once beyond the last fields). Westbound trains
being held out by the signal down the track closer to Vinton stop next to
the soccer complex to avoid blocking the Berkley Road crossing. I'm not sure
how far up the line from the crossing the helping siding was located, but
the soccer complex provides trackside access (to a point) without having to
get on the tracks.
