WRECK ON N&W

Freight Train Breaks and Parts Collide Near Basic City.

At Crimora early yesterday morning, a freight train on the Norfolk &
Western broke and the two parts collided, causing a wreck. Four
loaded cars were derailed and wrecked.

There was no loss of life but one brakeman, O.W. Ramsey, of Roanoke,
was badly bruised, though not seriously injured.

The wreck occurred in such an inconvenient place that many hours
passed before the track was cleared, No. 1, due in Roanoke about 9
o'clock a.m., was annulled, and No. 13, due about 4 p.m., was delayed
two hours and a half.
