Virginian Centennial Celebration  

There is still time to register for the three day celebration of the   
arrival of the Deepwater Railway to Mullens, WV! For three days, Friday, Nov. 3,  
Saturday, Nov. 4  and Sunday, Nov. 5, events will be taking place to mark  this 
milestone. The base for the activities is the Twin Falls State Park. When  
making your room reservations at the Twin Falls State Park (1-800-callwva),  
mention this conference for a special price.
 
The cost for the centennial celebration conference activities is a very  
modest $20 and which will include:
    *   Friday lunch at Mullens Opportunity Center and half day walking tour 
of  historic Mullens  
    *   Friday evening  program of slides of Virginian Railway HO modeling by 
 (our own group member) Dr. Gerry Albers. AND  
    *   Friday evening roundtable discussion with retired VGN and N&W men.  
    *   Saturday all day bus tour along the route of the Deepwater Ry. from  
Deepwater as far south as time allows, following as closely as possible to the 
 railroad line with numerous stops.  OR  
    *   Reunion of retired VGN, N&W employees picnic at Mullens American  
Legion Hall.  
    *   Buffet dinner at Mullens Opportunity Center followed by a local 
theatrical  production, "Icons of the Virginian Railway and Mullens, WV"  
    *   Sunday half day car caravan tour along the Winding Gulf Branch.
