General Mahone

Unless my memory fails me, "Extra" Billy had a home in Culpeper on Main Street where the old post office now resides.  Claude Guill of Culpeper wrote a book on him and did a lot of research.  However, I can't find Mr. Guill's name in the phone book and due to his advanced age, I doubt he could help you.  I will ask around.

  Does anyone know if there yet remains any "residue" (to use a legal term) from General Billy Mahone?  Such as papers, artifacts, a homestead, etc?

  It would be a commendable task for someone around Lynchburg to look up the General's grave and post a photograph of it to the List.
