Raildays at Spencer, NC(NCTM) and the N&W

Received the following message via Carolina Rails. It should also be noted
that an evening photo session will probably occur (it has for the past
several Rail Days) and hopefully the N&W loco and equipment will be the
subject. Steve Barry has coordinated the evening photo sessions of years
past. NCTM web site should have full details as the date draws near.

The NC Transportation Museum in Spencer will be

hosting the 19th Annual RAIL DAYS on May 6 & 7, 2006.

The underlying theme of the weekend will be the N& W

Railway. The museum is currently looking for slide

presenters on the N&W for a show on Saturday, May 6

from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. If interested, please email

Two passenger trains will be operated - 

1. N&W GP-9 620 with 3 ex-N&W lightweight coaches on

loan from the Roanoke Chapter NRHS.

2. SOU 6133 with RPO and coaches. This will be a train

just for museum members. The 6133 will be returning

shortly from an overhaul and repaint from Ohio. 

A solid caboose train will be operated as well.

A model train show and sale is being plan for the

roundhouse.
