Headlight - Backup light conventions

Adding to what Jim has furnished about N&W headlight operation, about  45 
years ago, a friendly railroad employee invited me into the cab of 2134,  telling 
me she was going to scrap and if I wanted a gauge or two, I should help  
myself. Of course she was dead and I had no tools. I was just a wee,  innocent lad 
anyway! I did get the headlight switch which was made by Pyle  National. I 
still have it. There are two setting on it, "FRONT" and "REAR."  Within these 
two settings are stops for "FULL" and DIM."  If anyone would  like a scan 
attachment of it, I will be happy to oblige.
