Matewan Question

Still searching for a definitive answer.  I have been as close as  possible 
(without trespassing)
to both the east and west portals.  Obviously, the west portals and  bridges 
were constructed at different times.  The main re-enters WV within  a few feet 
of # 1 tee box on the golf course, but the tracks do not cut across  the 
course itself.
 
The track which loops "outside" the oxbow in the river feeds from the  
westbound track past the golf course; continues past Lobata etc., and ends less  
than one mile from the tunnel portals.  Could not see anything in 2005 to  show 
that this may have been the original main.
But the tunnels may be nearly 100 years old by this time.  Still  searching -
