Mr. Gordon Hamilton:

Thanks much for your kind effort in digging out of the archives the telegraph
call for South Roanoke Telegraph Office.

"Q." Dot-Dot-Dash-Dot. It's interesting that when a Train Order office was
established at Payne, Va, probably 25 years after South Roanoke was closed,
"Q" was the office call assigned it.

I have been researching these matters for over three decades. Of course, I'm
not sitting on top of all those high-power records held at the Roanoke
archives, and my information is not infallible. But if you (or others) would like
my lists of telegraph calls by division, I'll be happy to send them. Please
reply to me off-list at Caerularius at aol.com

Again my thanks !
