The depot at New River was about 0.5 miles west of the New River bridge
on the V&T side, not the line to Belspring. Timetables indicate that it's
0.8 miles west of "JC" -- the west end of double track before crossing the
river. Eastbound on U.S. 11, the road to New River is on the right before
you get to Fairlawn. There's not even a siding there now, but in 1923
"NR" had an operator (9-to-5). New River was also a flag stop for Nos.9
and 10 until about 1957. Following the Battle of Cloyd's Mountain in 1864,
General Crook's forces got on the V&T right-of-way at Dublin and destroyed
the tank at New River on the way to Central Depot.
