Passenger service on the Durham District

Thank you, that is exactly correct.  In the Courier=Times (the Roxboro  
paper) article of 8-9-54 it was stated "The Norfolk and Western is also  authorized 
to provide passenger and express service on the local freight trains  
operating over the lines every day.  Sundays excepted.  There will be  two schedules 
combinded with the freight trains....The train leaving Lynchburg,  Va. at 8:25 
am is slated to make the trip to Durham by 4:05 P.M. and the train  leaving 
Durham at 6:30 a.m. will arrive in Lynchburg at 2:45 pm."
