There are no plans to replace the CPL's on the Bristol Line. Many look to be near the point of collapse though. I believe NS is hopeful that the state will fund passenger service on the line, which will require many state funded upgrades, among which I'm sure will be a need to standardize the signal system on the line. They need about a million or so to finish the signal job.

Thanks for the great listing, Ben. Are there plans to
install more SafeTrans signal equiment in the
foreseeable future, or will these be CPL's be in
service for a while?
Also, has anyone compiled a list for the Shenandoah
Division?
Best wishes, all!

Subject: Re: CPL Signals
On the Bristol Line the remaining CPL installations
are, from east to west;
Radford
New River (east of the New River trestle)
Clark (old east end Clark)
Gunton Park (old west end Clark)
Stone's Mill (old east end Wytheville)
Wytheville (old west end Wytheville)
Schuleen (old east end Marion)
Marion (old west end Marion)
Glade Spring (old east end Glade Spring)
Washington (old west end Glade Spring)
Abingdon (old west end Abingdon)
All other installations of CPL's are gone, and were
either phased out or replaced with Safetran signals in
1996-97, except at east end Abingdon which was
replaced in 1999.
