Salem... Where was the old depot?

The existing Salem station (the stone one) is said to have been constructed 
in 1891.

Two questions:

1.)  Did the operator in this station ever have train order signals (and 
mebbe manual block signals) ?  (Gee whiz, that would have required a 
down-hill rod pipeline, huh !!! )

2.)  Where was the Salem passenger depot located before the 1891 building 
was constructed?
