Bob,
There were several places that good aerial photos should have be taken;
Prichard, WV (great curve along the Big Sandy River) and west of Hanging
Rock, OH ( miles of straight track going into Scioto County). Only sorry
that as at that time I did not arrange to have a camera.
There are high cliffs that overlook the track west of Hanging Rock and at
least a series of pictures by someone like me could have be laced together
for most if not all of this monster.
I look forward to your article.
Take care,
Oak

Bob,
Please keep researching for photos of the "500". I feel that somewhere there
are pictures that would do justice to the effort of this record setting
move. Too many people were aware of the situation for there not to have been
a good photo or two. Shame that O. Winston Link didn't get involved because
of the N&W history to such an event.
Some time you should come to IRONTON and look at the photo that was
wallpapered above a bar that was installed in the old N&W depot when it was
converted to "The Depot" restuarant in the '80s. It is a "J" and is as good
as it gets; 10'-12' X 6' and pasted to a spot approx. 10' off the floor with
excellent lighting.
"The Depot" is gone now but access to the building can be arranged.
